Camping Spaces Now Available Online for Winchester’s 2021 Season

Camping is part of the traditional lore of Winchester Speedway.  Now, for the first time, camping spaces are available to purchase online at winchesterspeedway.com for the entire 2021 season.

Seven events make up the 2021 schedule for the World’s Fastest Half Mile, the most the legendary speedway has hosted in a decade.  To accommodate the increased number of events and the camping inquiries, Winchester Speedway will have spaces available for each race.

With the exception of the Winchester 400, all camping spaces are being offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In regards to the 50th Winchester 400 weekend on October 14 - 17, speedway officials will first offer a certain amount of spots to those who purchased camping spaces for the event last year.  Each person will be reached out to, either by email or phone call.

Fans will have one final chance to renew their spots from last year, in person, at the May 18th Fly Over States 150.  The space renewals will take place in the fan information area in the midway or the new speedway office, just to the right before fans enter the facility through the midway.  Winchester 400 camping spaces will go on sale to the general public on May 21.

A full campground of nearly 350 spots are available for the Winchester 400 and the King of the Highbanks even on Labor Day weekend.  A limited number of spots are available for the reminder of the events, due to the use of the lot adjacent to Route 32 as a parking lot for the fans in attendance.

New for 2021, spaces have increased in size throughout the campground area. A limit of three camping spaces per person is now being implemented.  Essentially, the three spot limit would equate to six from one year ago with the size of each spot doubling in size.

There are several premier camping spaces along the woodline of the speedway.  Fans can also choose spacious camping spots which are up to three times the size of the traditional spot in recent years.

New for 2021 are camping spots (along the fenceline) that are scheduled to have power for the September and October events.  Those spots are slated to have 50 amp power and are priced accordingly.  If there is any delay in the process for the electric to be installed, those who purchased those spaces would be refunded the difference from the amount of a powered spot to a premier camping purchase.

Tickets for all events will be released shortly, but ticket purchases are currently available for the May 9 USAC event and the May 18 Super Late Model special by visiting winchesterspeedway.com/tickets.

Winchester Speedway opens its 2021 season on Sunday, May 9 with the Rich Vogler Classic.  It will mark USAC’s return to the famed high banks and serve as the track debut for the USAC Silver Crown Champ Cars.  The Midwest Vintage Racing Club will also be part of the festivities.

Just a week-and-a-half later, Winchester Speedway will debut a brand new event, the Fly Over States 150, on Tuesday, May 18.  Super Late Models from the ARCA / CRA Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour will combine to bring some of the top drivers in the country to Randolph County in Indiana.  The Vores Compact Touring Series will also race during the mid-week special.

On June 5, the Hoosier Daddy 100 will bring fireworks both on the track and in the air.  Street Stocks will receive the spotlight with a high-dollar affair.  And while the CRA Sportsman class will also be in action, fans will also be treated to a fireworks show from Scarrette Pyrotechnics.

That weekend will also bring back memories from the past at the Fastest Half Mile.  June 4-5 will be part of the Winchester Old-Timers Reunion where fans can get up close and personal with race cars through the years.

The ARCA Menards Series will visit Winchester Speedway on Saturday, July 31.  The Midwest Modified Tour will also be in action, for the first of three visits to the rural Indiana racetrack.

August will be an off-month for the speedway, as track officials will prepare for three big events to culminate the season.

The renamed Labor Day weekend event, now the King of the Highbanks, will feature Sprint Cars, Super Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and the Vores Compact Series on September 4-5.

The 50th Winchester 400 is the marquee event of 2021 and will have plenty of fanfare on October 14 - 17.

On October 30, Sprint Cars and more are racing in the final event of the season - the Sammy Sessions Snowball.
