IN INTEREST OF RACERS – NO FRIDAY PRACTICE FOR KING OF HIGHBANKS EVENT

Exploring the Fastest Speedways in the Midwest USA

Winchester Speedway is working to create a fun atmosphere for fans and racers alike. To accommodate racers in the current times, there will be no Friday’s practice for the Vore’s Welding and Steel King of the Highbanks presented by JEGS weekend at the World’s Fastest Half Mile in east central Indiana.

“We had some great conversations with some of the racers. They were polite in their concerns for the cost of practice and the rising cost of things for the racing industry. And while we stressed that the practice was optional for those that simply wanted to dial their cars in or get extra track time, we understand their concerns,” said Bob Dillner, Promoter of Winchester Speedway. “After thinking about it, we decided, in the interest of the racers, to eliminate Friday’s optional practice session. We want to work where we can to make things better for everyone.”

The event will now officially kickoff on Saturday September 4 with the Vores Compact Touring Series, CRA / JEGS All-Stars Tour (Pro Late Models) and CRA Street Stocks. Sunday, September 5 will be a huge doubleheader of Super Late Models and Sprint Cars. The ARCA / CRA Super Series and the Auto Value Super Sprints will be in action. The rain date for the entire weekend is Monday, September 6.

The Super Late Model portion of the event, the Fly Over States 150 presented by JEGS, will pay $10,000 to the driver who stands in victory lane after the 150-lap event. The race is a minimum of $750 to start. The winner will also get to ascend the throne and don the crown, cloak and scepter.

All tickets for the weekend will be General Admission except for the top-three rows. The top-three rows are reserved tickets only. Tickets for the King of the Highbanks and the Lucas Oil Winchester 400 are available at winchesterspeedway.com/tickets.
