The Rich Vogler Classic returns to Winchester Speedway this Thursday, July 22 when the USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series makes their debut at the World’s Fastest Half Mile.
The event marks the sanctioning body’s first trip to Winchester since 2011, when the National Sprint Cars contested their final asphalt race before switching to a strictly-dirt series.
Pit gates will open at noon for teams to unload their cars ahead of the day’s activities. Grandstands open at 3:00pm, the same time as when the driver’s meeting is set to commence. Silver Crown will get one hour of practice at 4:00pm, followed by Midwest Vintage Racing’s exhibition at 5:00pm.
Teams will qualify at 6:00pm, with an autograph session on the midway following qualifying. Cars will line up on the frontstretch at 7:30pm, with driver introductions and pre-race ceremonies shortly after. The Rich Vogler Classic Presented by The Pallet Builder will go green at approximately 8:15pm.
