Winchester 400 Weekend To Be Presented by JEGS

This biggest short track racing weekend in Indiana is getting bigger.  In fact, the golden running of the Lucas Oil Winchester 400 has gotten a little more sunshine yellow as well.  Officials are excited to announce the Winchester 400 Weekend is now presented by JEGS from October 15 - 17 in Winchester, Indiana.

“JEGS is a big part of not only everything that happens at Winchester Speedway, but also for all the teams that are competing during our entire weekend,” said Bob Dillner, Promoter of Winchester Speedway.  “This is the 50th running of the Lucas Oil Winchester 400 presented by JEGS, but we will also celebrate the heritage of all the other divisions that are competing during the weekend.  JEGS helps provide what racers need, whether you are a Compact or Street Stock racer or a Modified and Late Model competitor and that’s why it is cool to have the Winchester 400 Weekend presented by JEGS.”

The spotlight event of the weekend will be the 50th Lucas Oil Winchester 400 on Sunday, October 17.  The event will be one of the highest-paying Super Late Model races in America, with a guaranteed $25,000 to the winner.  That mark is nearly $10,000 more than the winner’s share one year ago.

Not only will the winner see a pay increase, the big money will spread out throughout the rest of the top-five.  Second place will now get $12,000, third moves to $10,000, while fourth and fifth will earn $8,000 and $7,000, respectively.  The Winchester 400 will pay $1,500 to start.

Overall, the purse is a record in the 50-year history of the Winchester 400.

“This event is one of the best in the nation and we are happy to have JEGS be a part of it.  We love the big races and those that compete at the track are our customers,” said John Coughlin, President of JEGS.  “We are all racers here at JEGS.  We know what it’s like when you need something.  We treat every customer like it’s one of us.  We want to get what they need as soon as possible so they can go to the track, the car show or whatever they want to go with their project.”

It’s not only the Super Late Models that will be racing for extra money during the Winchester 400 Weekend presented by JEGS.  On Friday, the Vores Compact Touring Series “Compact Kingdom” will pay $1,000 to win and $200 to start.  The winner of the Midwest Modifieds Tour “Run For the Gun” race on Saturday will collect $5,000 to win.  It will also pay $650 just to start the 50-lap main event.

Three great days of racing highlight the Winchester 400 Weekend presented by JEGS from October 15-17, 2021.  Friday will feature not only the “Compact Kingdom” event, but also the CRA / JEGS All-Stars Tour Pro Late Model season finale and a post-race concert.  The Midwest Modifieds Tour highlight Saturday’s racing card with the CRA Street Stocks and Sportsman in action prior to a fireworks show to cap the night.  Both Friday and Saturday’s events will be streamed live on MAVTV Plus.  That all leads up to the 50th Lucas Oil Winchester 400 on Sunday, which will also be seen live on MAVTV network television.

All tickets for the weekend are available now at winchesterspeedway.com/tickets. Pit passes for the weekend are available on the Pit Pay app (available on all major platforms).  Trackside Parking will also be available on the Pit Pay App.  And while camping is sold out on the grounds of Winchester Speedway, the staff would be happy to recommend other campgrounds in the area of hotels that are a short drive from the speedway.
