Winchester Speedway is a believer in giving back to not only its fans, but those that grace the highbanks of the World’s Fastest Half Mile.
Speedway officials announced today that drivers racing in the Midwest Modifieds Tour event on Saturday, July 31, will receive two free Hoosier tires if they choose to compete in the next race scheduled at Winchester Speedway on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
“We love Modifieds and wanted to show a sign of gratitude to those that are dedicated to racing at Winchester Speedway,” said Bob Dillner, General Manager of Winchester Speedway. “We are donating one tire and the series is chipping in another tire. So if someone races with us on Saturday and returns for the second of our three Modified races this year, that driver will get two free tires; that’s pretty cool.”
More than 20 Modifieds are expected to compete in this Saturday’s event at Winchester Speedway. The Sunday, September 5 event will pay $5,000 to win. The speedway and the Midwest Modifieds Tour are working together to provide this tire bonus to those that compete in both races.
“This is an awesome effort from Winchester Speedway and our series to help out the racers with the ever-rising costs of racing,” said Bud Gray, co-manager of the Midwest Modifieds Tour. “Not only does this help the racers, but it shows that both of us genuinely care about the sport of Short Track Racing. If we can continue to work in this manner it will only help bring bigger and better things in the future.”
On-track activity is slated to begin at 3:00pm ET with the Midwest Modifieds and their one hour practice session. ARCA will get a 45 minute session at 4:15pm, with Modified qualifying following immediately after. General Tire Pole Qualifying for ARCA is slated to start at 6:00pm.
The Modifieds will have their feature at 6:30, with a scheduled distance of 50 laps. The ARCA Menards Series Calypso Lemonade 200 will commence at 8:00. It will be broadcasted live on MAV TV.
